Juvenile Training is currently indoors for Spring 2019 until March  Indoors at the Community Sports Centre Littleton When weather is better we will move outdoors to Cross Country until the summer holidays and then back out for Cross Country training in September to December.

Our Child Welfare Officers for 2018 to January 2019 are: Kay Cantwell (Female Officer) & Laurenz Egan (Male Officer) Our Coaches & Leaders for 2019 Are Kay Cantwell, Billy Purcell, Fiona Coman Shane Mullaney , John Fogarty.

Cross Country Season - Training will take place in the Field beside the Moycarkey Community Sports Centre in Littleton every Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 7pm to 8pm. Cost is 2 euro per athlete. We have two lanes marked out, one for the younger athletes & the other for our older athletes. Parents are welcome to walk or jog the route themselves during training if they so wish.

It is important that all athletes arrive on time & complete their warm up session to avoid injury. Contact Kay Cantwell (086 8382517) for more details about training. New athletes & help always welcome.

Each athlete should come to training dressed in the proper attire (ie. tracksuit, tracksuit bottoms & hoodie). It is advisable that all athletes wear a few layers of clothes & a warm hat during cold weather & sun block and a cap during warm weather. All athletes should also wear proper supportive footwear. Athletes are not permitted to train in spikes. Each athlete should also bring a drink with them so that they can hydrate themselves during training. Water is the best option but sports drinks are also acceptable.

As part of our training nights during the Indoor & Outdoor Seasons, the Club runs the Little Athletics Programme for younger children aged between 5 & 8 years. This programme consists of a one hour slot where the children can develop their athletic fundamentals - agility, balance and co-ordination in a fun and non competitive environment. Little Athletics is a programme designed by Athletics Ireland to address the specific physical requirements of children between 5 and 10 years of age. This is a time in a child\'s life that is vital to their long term physical development. Improving their fundamental skills in agility, co-ordination and balance will contribute greatly to future sporting achievements and an all-round healthier lifestyle. Little Athletics focuses on introducing the basics of athletic movement in a fun, exciting and non-competitive environment and uses fun and games to develop fitness. Under the supervision of our trained Athletic Leaders, props such as hurdles, obstacles, foam javelins and hula hoops are used to encourage running, jumping, hopping and throwing.
